Open Studio: Hand-building & Glazing

Service Description
Note: If you need 2,5 hours or 3 hours please get in contact with us directly. This 2 hours session includes your preparation and cleaning time. Please bring your own towel and apron. If you want to practice hand-building by yourself without any guidance or you need to glaze your pieces, you can book hours in the studio. You are required to have experience with ceramics. At least one round of course or you can also be self-thought but you should know the process and have made ceramics with natural clay (not polymer clay) and have your pieces fired before. There is a large table, a slab roller and many other tools for hand-building. If you would like to book time in the studio but on the pottery wheel please use the booking option Open Studio: Pottery Wheel You can use the tools in the studio but the materials and firings are not included. You can buy your clay from the studio or bring your own bag (you will need a confirmation for this). We have G&S 254 stoneware clay which we charge 15 Euros per 10 kg bag (it is original price+shipment cost). You can also use studio glazes and we can fire your pieces but you will be charged based on their size. Firing is 5 Euros per kilo and per firing for regular pieces. Glaze firing is 10 Euros for flatware such as plates, since they take more space in the kiln. Pieces not made in the studio is 10 Euros per kilo per firing and we need to be sure that they are safe to put in the kiln. All the pieces will be analyzed before firing and we have the right to not fire them to not risk other pieces (this is to secure all pieces and extremely rare). You will have a space on the shelves for your pieces and we can store your clay with a name tag on it, unfortunately at the moment we cannot offer you a personal box, but I offer a shared box. If you want to come very often, can book 40 hours (20 sessions) or more and need such a service please let us know. A studio mentor will be there to offer some guidance if you have any questions related to the studio but the mentor will be working independently too so cannot guide you. In case you need guidance you can book one of our courses or if you need guidance on only few issues please e-mail us with details we can set up a guided open studio session with 40 euro extra charge per session.

Cancellation Policy
Please understand that I am the only person running the studio and my plan and costs depend on your bookings, thus you can only reschedule up to 24 hours and cancel up to 48 hours before the start time. Once you buy a session or a package you will not have the opportunity to get a refund. Even though you cannot find a space to book, you will need to wait until you do. So please make sure you have checked if there is any available space matching your schedule and book as soon as you buy your sessions. DewEra reserves the right to cancel before the start of the course due to insufficient participation, illness or any other form of force majeure. In that case, the customer will receive a cancellation notice by e-mail and will be able to receive a full refund for the session or a change of date. In the event that a cancellation is due to a third party or event beyond our control, the customer can book another date. In that case, no automatic refund of the costs will take place. If the customer cannot book an alternative date, then please directly get in contact so that we can make a refund, only for that session. By buying a session or session you accept the terms and conditions available on the website and DewEra Ceramics is not responsible for the accidents might happen in the studio caused by your actions.
